Gabriele Rose, PT Owner of Children's Therapeutics of Austin. Graduated from The University of Texas - Southwestern Medical School in 1977 with a degree in Allied Health Sciences and certification in Physical Therapy. She has had a varied experience with emphasis in pediatrics throughout her career. Gabriele has been providing pediatric physical therapy in the Austin area since 1986 and is well known in the community. She is trained in Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT)- pediatrics, and is certified in Therapeutic Listening. Gabriele is also trained in both Craniosacral Therapy and Myofacial Release and holds a certification in Therapeutic Electrical Stimulation. She has significant experience and interest in work with neuromuscular disorders, oral motor dysfunction, sensory processing disorders, and Autism.

Amelia Byars Penoli, PT, DPT received her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in Houston, Texas. She then completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from TWU in 2009. Amelia earned a Bachelor degree in psychology in 2005 from the University of Texas at Austin – Hook ‘Em! – where she specialized in child developmental psychology. Amelia has been part of the CTOA family since 2004, when she started working as a therapy tech. Following PT school, Amelia headed back to the little yellow house as fast as she could! Amelia loves working with children of all ages, and has worked with ranges of difficulties and disabilities, including: motor coordination disorder, neuromuscular and musculoskeletal disorders, congenital disorders, torticollis, sensory processing disorders, pediatric sports injuries, and more.

Emily Rowe, PT received her Master’s in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas in May of 2008. She has a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences from the University of Texas in Austin. Emily has worked with children from birth to 19 years of age with diagnoses including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, motor coordination dysfunction, developmental delay, torticollis, congenital disorders, sports injuries, and gross/fine motor dysfunction.

Kerri Pavliska, OTR received her degree in Occupational Therapy from The University of New Hampshire and has worked with the pediatric population since her entry into the field. She is Sensory Integration and Praxis Test Certified (SIPT) and specializes in working with children who have sensory processing disorders. Kerri has extensive training in fine motor and visual motor/graphomotor difficulties and works frequently with oral motor challenges. She is trained in the Handwriting Without Tears program and can assess and remediate handwriting difficulties.

Lisa Tobias, OTR received her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 2002 and has worked with the pediatric population for several years. She joined the Children’s Therapeutics of Austin team in 2006, then relocated to New York City to work with children with special needs. Lisa has worked in the school, hospital, home, and outpatient rehabilitation settings. She has provided therapeutic services for children with various needs and diagnoses of all ages which have included cerebral palsy, Erb’s palsy, sensory integration dysfunction, ADD/ADHD, mental retardation, congenital abnormalities, and developmental delays. Her areas of interest include toddlers and school aged children. She has extensive continuing education experience in areas such as autism, pervasive developmental disorders, fine motor/visual motor difficulties, handwriting issues, oral motor challenges, visual vestibular issues, sensory integration techniques and behavior modification techniques. In addition, she also has experience with aquatic therapy and splint fabrication.

Donna Brandel, CCC SLP Graduated from North Texas State University with a Masters in Speech Language Pathology (SLP) in 1988. She also has a minor in education and has a certificate to teach at all levels in the schools. Donna has worked in different intervention settings including: schools and hospitals, as well as residential and clinical settings. Her areas of interest and specialty include: the pediatric population, the mentally challenged, children with Autism, augmentative communication and oral motor and feeding challenges.

Megan O’Malley, SLP Graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Masters of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2003. She is a certified instructor of the Hanen parent programs It Takes Two to Talk and More Than Words for helping parents promote increased communication in the home. She has worked in various settings including a pediatric rehab hospital and the Austin public schools for three years. She joined Children’s Therapeutic of Austin in July of 2006. Her areas of interest include infants, toddlers, and school aged children with extensive continuing education experience in the area of autism, oral motor/ feeding disorders, fluency disorders, apraxia of speech, augmentative communication, language development, and receptive/ expressive language disorders.
